This was a talk and workshop I gave at the premiere conference on psychedelics:

EXPLORING INHIBITORY & EXCITATORY TRANCE STATES.

There are three avenues to open the gates to altered states of consciousness. 1) Through psychedelics. 2) Inhibitory: stilling or inhibiting the senses until awareness of the material realm fades. And 3) Excitatory: stimulating the senses to a point where the mind can't keep up. Each of these types yields different yet connected experiences and skill in each is vital for the fully-fledged psychonaut. In this workshop we'll explore techniques and choreography of the later two. Expect movement, sound, guided meditation, chaos and stillness. Leave your mind behind.

Lust & Love: The Temple of Complete Eros

In temple spaces we bravely explore the realm beyond taboo to allow the sexual current to flow. But full embodied Eros requires more. It is an alchemy not just of sexual desire but also of heart longing. True Eros is the union of Lust and Love.

This requires a deep courage. The courage to allow the feelings of LOVE in such a container is to open a pandoras box to our deepest unmet longings. In this True Temple of Eros, we will cultivate the essence of Love between us much as we do the sexual side.

Imagine Tarot, but instead of cards you have live actors wearing evocative masks. An Oracle is designated and a question is sought from the crowd. The masked actors are possessed by the question and perform a "happening" in response. After a time the Oracle calls "Stop!" and "reads" the performance to give the querent their answer.

This is a form of experiential art — a consciousness playground – an exploration of the space that lies between a strict performance — where the participants give the experience — and a strict workshop — were the participants receive the experience.

Masks are powerful enablers of participation. They encourage radical self-expression. When you wear one you are liberated from acting as your normally would/should.

In this experience, we begin with exercises to lead the would-be actors into a state of non-mind. We continue with oracular training to interpret the symbolic and subtle meaning implied in aesthetic occurrences. We then take our trainees into the crowd to both receive and give an experience that ultimately comes from somewhere else.

The experience of Group Eros is a powerful, playful and delicious step from the comfort zone of “pairs”, to relaxing and expanding into community —where we are no longer the centre of attention, and yet somehow, our needs and desires are even more deeply nourished.

I’m excited to co-host this Eros temple with the glorious tantrika, Shanti. Babalon is the Red Goddess, who represents the re-unification of the Mother and Whore falsely divided so long ago, with so many dire consequences. Her essence is the decommissioning of judgements about what is “high” and “low” sexuality. This temple is an introduction to sex magick — recognising the power in the deep trance state that Eros leads us into.

Sex Magick, let’s get right to the essence — is the art of transmuting your kink into power — power to super-charge your intentions and power to re-birth a healthy, free and ecstatic culture. It’s also a fine way to add some funky creativity to your play. In this workshop we’ll play, first with ourselves, then each other, then culminating in a spontaneous and outrageous mystical theatre.

Our ancestors were taught to be ashamed of their basic essential human needs. This fracturing of our subconscious self is the basis behind the whole system of oppression that infests our minds. In this ritual we'll reclaim the “7 Essential Human Needs” from the corrupted “7 Deadly Sins"

Sometimes the smallest touch on the most unexpected parts of the body can evoke desire that surpasses even the usual stimulation points. In this group touch workshop we’ll seek ours out, and once they are discovered we’ll delve into an ecstatic pleasure like you’ve never experienced.

Using the power of kundalini tantra, chaos magick, breathwork, dance, visualisation and embodied imagination we dive deep into the space between waking and sleep in the spirit of exploration and illumination.

A simple shibari rope harness combined with sexy partner dancing allows us to explore the juicy energies of Dom/sub in a playful and sensual way.

Butoh for Witches. A "Happening" for Shamans. "Bucca" is the West Country spirit known more commonly as Puck, or Pan — the Primal, Wild One. Here, we'll engage in a series of activities — drawing from Baol’s Theatre of the Oppressed — to unveil our feral selves before co-creating an impromptu ritual to resurrect the spirit of humanity which refuses to be subjugated.

To create safety for ourselves and others in sexual temples, group touch spaces — and indeed the rest of life — we need a firm grounding in our body and its signals and we need the embodied skills to understand and communicate this. This workshop teaches these skills and gives us practice through playful and impactul games.

You are captured by a couple of sexy nymphs and taken to a dark clearing in the forest. You are ritually washed, tied to a tree and primed with their erotically alluring yet maddening way. They tell you to prepare to meet the Great God Pan. If he approves he will grant you the wish of your hearts deepest desire. But what offering will you make that will win his favour? An electrifying, terrifying and magickally potent experience.

We often think of emotional energy as something to release but in truth it is our innate wildness calling out for expression — long suppressed in a society that exalts absolute control and denigrates the unorthodox. These sessions are more than catharsis  – they are about giving ourselves the embodied experience of our wild, untamable self. The more we know this self – in our bones – the more free we are from the stories that hide in its shadows and the more free and deeply authentic we can live life in every moment.
